Anatomy of a Boulder, Private collection, Pennsylvania
Anatomy Of A Boulder was created from a single large 20 ton glacial erratic boulder. The boulder was split 500 times, with small hand forged steel wedges, to create geometric patterns. 50 finished pieces were then assembled like a puzzle to create a sculpture that retains the external shape of the boulder, but allows the viewer to walk through the boulder and experience the negative and positive geometrical spaces created on the inside.
